one of my reworked images. I deleted the previous version as i wasnt happy with it. now i think you should see a black bg. Ive also added more detail but have to admit that one a small version as posted here, it may look a tad oversharpened. Anyway, i really hope you like this version, thanks for checking it out. ( PS - again, thank you for more best wishes of daughter, she is recovering well with antibiotics and physio treatment to neck and should be ready for our majorca holiday in puerto pollensa in a months time thankfully).

Firstly, a very big thanks for some of the emails i had regarding my daughter. She is out of hospital at last and is recovering slowly after the intense infection to her throat, neck and head. I will reply to any mail i recieved in the last week, please bear with me as it may take a few days to get back up to speed. This one was taken in longleat wildlife park and has had a fair amount of editing done to it, thankfully recording and using actions in photoshop enabled me to do this in about 5 minutes. Thanks again to those that sent their best wishes via comments and email, it was very appreciated. Hope you like this one guys..... Edited in a slightly different way after buying a book called - The creative digital darkroom by katrin eismann and sean duggan. A percentage covers basic stuff but some of the techniques that katrin covers gives a good insight to the way she works ( Katrin is a well respected proffesional and lectures photoshop http://www.creativedigitaldarkroom.com/).

I hope my friends in this group accept my apologies for my absence of last couple of days. The Girl pictured here, my daughter, Rachael who is 7 years old has been rushed into hospital today and is having tests. We do not know what is wrong yet. I am uploading this because it is much quicker than writing to all the people here that are waiting for a reply from me via email. I hope they all see this. So, i must go back to hospital now to be with her, We hope that it is something to do with a virus which has infected her neck and head due to a weakness after falling off a pony 6 weeks ago. tht might sound cruel, but it is the best option we have as it will mean she doesnt have to have an operation. I will catch up with you all, hopefully tomorrow, but please excuse my lack of comments from last days. Ric.

Taken at a local park. Did a little experiment on this one, i know it isnt much to look at but again, it appeals to me which is the real value for me. Just liked the detail in the feather tones I guess.

This was taken up in the rhondda valleys in south wales. Looking at it, the image here has changed slightly due to the shift from adobe rgb to srgb colour spaces. Resizing hasnt helped either. Before going to srgb, a little more detail was visible but if viewed on black background then it should be better. This was processed using several techniques as i wanted it to portray the mood that i swa, when taking the shot. Another one of those shots that has technical flaws but these were not so important for my style It was not pushed in HDR but tonemapped and blended with layers. I hope it comes over roughly as i saw it, thanks for looking.

One of my old shots, but re-edited. Whereas before it was similar i like to think that the softness and localised saturation, added to the fur, has enriched it a touch. Taken at longleat, i hope to revisit this year. Another example of my failings of technical success in a photo, but again, based on appeal of it to myself, and hoping it is liked by others for the same reason. I could watch these guys all day long. Thanks for checking it out, hope you like it.

Taken on a local waterfall walk ( localish anyway), this being one of 12 waterfalls on this particular route. Many attempts have been made on this image but have finally found one which appeals to me at least, i hope it will in one way or another to someone else. Thank you for looking

Well, after a lengthy absense due to being dissilusioned with my work, i have decided to try my hand at my old stuff again. I dont seem to be able to get away from my favorite methods so will just have to put up with it. Taken in bath at the romnan baths, it isnt a new photo but has had new treatment to it ( not HDR). Thanks in advance to all those that have commented on my work in the past ( deleted). I hope that i wont bore you if one or two appear here again after further editing to make them appealing to me. Good to be back and hope to speak to many of you again soon. And thanks for looking guys.
